When you think of your home what comes into your mind? Is it chaos, clutter, turbulent? Or is it calm, organized, peaceful?
Our homes should be a place of comfort and refuge, a place where we know we can always find peace and relaxation. One way we can work to insure that is to keep our homes clean. I’m not talking white glove inspection clean. I’m talking about a clean where we are comfortable, where we enjoy the space, clean where company can arrive unexpectedly and we aren’t scrambling to toss things under the rug.
Taryn has been leading a closed Facebook group called “Intentionally Refining Your Home”. As you might expect, it’s made up completely of women, but they have all raved about the impact that working daily on their home has. One of the most impactful things that the ladies do is a 15-minute home blessing.
To complete the 15-minute home blessing:
- Set your timer for 15 minutes.
- Hit the most lived-in spots in your home (usually the kitchen, main bathroom, living room).
- Quickly wipe counter tops, swish the toilet, wipe bathroom sink, do a quick vacuum of one room.
- Pick up anything that is blatantly out of place and put it away.
This isn’t a major cleaning event. It’s a quick hit to keep up with your home.
Day 6 Challenge – Bless Your Home
Your challenge for Day 6 is to complete a 15-minute home blessing together. That’s right ladies. He’s helping – both of you working together to spruce up your home and make it a more comfortable place to be.
Remember, no excuses. Instead of thinking of all of the reasons you can’t or don’t want to do this, think of the benefits you’ll get from it. Husbands, you’ll make your wife really happy. Wives, you get help!
For The Overachievers
Instead of running to different rooms and working in different areas, work in the same room. Hit the kitchen together, hit the bathroom together, hit the living room together, then maybe finish with the bedroom. (Yes. I did that on purpose.)
When you’re done, take a look around and notice if you feel any different.
Send us some pictures and let us know how it went!
