How is your marriage doing? Is your relationship where you want it to be? Is it headed in the right direction?
Do you realize that your marriage is performing exactly how you’ve designed it to perform? Everything that is happening (or not happening) inside your marriage is happening exactly how you’ve designed it.
For example, if you make time for each other at least once a week, your marriage will perform in exactly that manner. If your children have packed schedules and your marriage is suffering because there is no time for your and your spouse, your marriage will perform in exactly that manner.
Your marriage is performing exactly how you’ve designed it to perform.
Some will take that as a criticism. Others will take that as empowering. Be the latter. Let it empower you.
Take stock in your marriage and identify how it’s performing. Where is it performing well? Do more of those things! Where is performing below your standards? Make changes where changes need to be made.
Instead of designing your marriage on the fly and as you go and instead of letting your marriage just happen, be intentional about the way you design your marriage. Make conscious, intentional decisions about how you want your marriage to be and then design it that way.
Take the time to sit down with your spouse, have a conversation about where your marriage is now and where you want it to be, and decide what you will do together to make it happen.
